Terms & Conditions

1. Who you are contracting with
BuildRecord is operated by Uncomplicated Solution Limited, trading as BuildRecord ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using BuildRecord you enter into an agreement with Uncomplicated Solution Limited on these terms. You can reach us at jamesspencer935@hotmail.com.
2. Acceptance
By creating an account, making a purchase, or continuing to use BuildRecord you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please stop using the service. You confirm you are at least 18 years old, and where you use BuildRecord for an organisation, that you have authority to bind it.
3. What BuildRecord does
BuildRecord helps a homeowner keep an independent record of a home-improvement project. It stores your quotes, contracts, messages, photos, receipts and invoices, reads documents automatically to suggest a project baseline, records changes and payments you confirm, and compares a final invoice against what you recorded.
BuildRecord is not a solicitor, surveyor, quantity surveyor, adjudicator or financial adviser. It does not give legal, financial or professional advice and does not determine legal liability or who is right in a dispute. Automatic document reading and other AI-assisted features can be inaccurate or incomplete: they are suggestions only, they never change your recorded figures until you confirm them, and you should always check anything important against your original documents. You remain responsible for decisions you take.
4. Your account
You must give accurate information and keep it up to date. You are responsible for keeping your login details confidential and for activity carried out under your account. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been used without your permission.
5. Acceptable use
You must not:
- use BuildRecord for anything unlawful, fraudulent, abusive or misleading;
- upload content you have no right to upload, or that infringes someone else's rights;
- send spam, harass anyone, or impersonate another person or business;
- interfere with the security or operation of the service — including malware, probing, scanning, bulk scraping, or attempting to reach data that is not yours;
- reverse engineer, resell or redistribute the service, or bypass its technical limits.
6. Your content
You keep ownership of the documents, images and text you upload. You grant us a limited licence to host, store, process and display that content solely so we can provide the service to you — including passing document contents to our AI processing provider to extract details. We do not sell your content, and we do not share your project with your builder or anyone else unless you choose to export or send it.
If a rights holder believes content on BuildRecord infringes their rights, they can contact us at jamesspencer935@hotmail.com and we will review and, where appropriate, remove it. We may remove content or suspend accounts for repeated or serious infringement.
7. Our intellectual property
We own BuildRecord, its software, design, documentation and branding. You get a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service for your own projects within the plan you have paid for.
8. Payment
Each project starts with a 7-day free trial. To keep a project after the trial you make a one-off payment (£19.99 one-off per project per project). There is no subscription and nothing renews automatically. Prices are shown inclusive of any sales tax or VAT applied at checkout based on your location.
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. Payment, billing, tax and refund mechanics are governed by Paddle's Buyer Terms. See our Refund Policy for how refunds work.
9. Availability
We work to keep BuildRecord available and reliable, but we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or free of delays. We may change, update or withdraw features, and we may carry out maintenance.
10. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or end your access if you materially breach these terms, fail to pay, put the security of the service or other users at risk, or repeatedly or seriously break our acceptable use rules. You may stop using BuildRecord and delete your account at any time. When your access ends you can export your project record beforehand; afterwards we may delete your content in line with our Privacy Notice.
11. Warranties and liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude all implied warranties, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of data or loss of goodwill. Our total liability to you in any 12-month period is limited to the fees you paid us in that period. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded — and nothing affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
12. Indemnity
You agree to cover us for claims and costs arising from content you upload, unlawful use of the service, or your breach of these terms.
13. General
You may not transfer your rights under these terms without our consent; we may transfer ours as part of a merger, acquisition or reorganisation. Neither party is responsible for failures caused by events beyond reasonable control. If a clause is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, without affecting any protection you have under the law of your country of residence.
14. Changes
We may update these terms. If a change is significant we will tell you in the app or by email. Continuing to use BuildRecord after a change means you accept the updated terms.
